Back to topESL
The ESL program at Qatar Academy was established to support non-native English speakers in Kindergarten through grade 8. Students are given support to develop and enhance both basic interpersonal communication skills and the academic language needed to succeed at Qatar Academy. Students are indentified for the ESL program through teacher referrals, classroom observation, interviews and testing. The ESL team supports these students through a range of activities including planning and team teaching with mainstream teachers, inclusion and pullout instruction. This range of delivery methods allows for the use of diverse teaching strategies that address different learning styles and needs. These all lay the foundations for the ESL Program's central aim of enabling student success in the mainstream class setting.
