National Measles Immunization Campaign

Dear Parents,

The Qatar Ministry of Public Health in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) has launched the National Measles Immunization Campaign. This campaign targets all children in the State of Qatar from Kindergarten to Grade 6-7.

In compliance with the government campaign, Qatar Academy is sending out “Consent Forms” to the parents of our students in the mentioned grades. Kindly fill the “consent Form” and return it to the school by Thursday, 6th October 2016. The actual immunization will be conducted on the following dates:
• Kindergarten to Grade 5: 27th October 2016
• Grade 6-7: 3rd November 2016

The registered nursing staff at Qatar Academy provides a high standard of care to each and every student. The nurses work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, counselors and other school and community professionals to remove health barriers to learning. This includes evaluation and early detection of illness, emergency care and first aid, administration of medications, identifying health problems and routine health screening. Parents are welcome to contact the Nurse’s Office at any time to discuss student health concerns.

Nut- Free School
Qatar Academy has a no-nut policy. This means that nuts or products containing nuts cannot be sent to school at anytime! This applies to birthday cakes and food brought from home for medical reasons. Several children attend QA who are highly allergic to all kinds of nuts. Any exposure can put them in danger of having a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction.
