Welcome to Qatar Academy Doha,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to our website where you are able to find out about our school whose vision is to empower our students to achieve academic excellence and to be responsible citizens.
Qatar Academy Doha was the first school to be founded by Qatar Foundation in 1996 and thus we are approaching our first quarter century. In that time the school has developed an impressive reputation for academic excellence, for enabling all students to fulfill their talents and for the sense of serving the community which underpins the philosophy and mission of the school.
We provide the same quality of education for children of all ages starting with our youngest students in the Early Education Center which uses the Creative Curriculum, a play-based approach where children are active participants and co-constructors in their learning. This blends seamlessly into the three programs of the International Baccalaureate – the Primary Years, the Middle Years and the Diploma Programs. These strong educational programs are united through the Learner Profile and by the fact that they encourage the students to take the lead in their learning and to think for themselves.
Our curricula are enriched by strong Arabic and Islamic Studies teaching. Our Arabic speaking students are able to deepen their understanding of the heritage of the country through the study of Qatar History. The blend of English and Arabic studies ensures that our students are fully prepared for immersion in their communities, while being confident to study and work overseas.
Our experienced international and local faculty encourage our students to seek boundless horizons by knowing themselves and in understanding one another. A wide variety of extra-curricula activities broaden the learning experience of so many students as they represent the school in sport, academic games, international competitions, the model United Nations etc. We are proud of the way our students have represented our school and the country.
This is a dynamic place and only a portion of what we have to offer can be conveyed through the pages of the website. Above all, from reading the website one cannot get the sense of optimism and support which are the hallmarks of our community and which bind us together. We welcome you to visit the school to experience this for yourself.
