Who We Are

Who We Are

Welcome to the Early Education Center

My name is Jo Ellis and I am the Assistant Principal of the 3 Qatar Academy EEC Centers.

I am based at Qatar Academy but working closely with our Primary Principal, Assistant Principals, the Lead Teachers Daad Bataineh at the Clubhouse and Gill Gunay at the Student Centre and of course our wonderful teachers.

Our School vision is to promote an environment where children are empowered to achieve academic excellence and be responsible citizens. We believe that even for our very youngest children at Qatar Academy this can be achieved through play, social interactions and excellent teaching practices. This is a critical time of learning for children.

As an Arabic speaking family, one of the greatest benefits of your child attending the Early Education Center is that he or she will simultaneously acquire two languages: Arabic and English. Arabic teachers speak Arabic all day in school. This will support your child’s development of a strong “mother tongue” language in Arabic. Your child will be exposed to and learn to understand and speak English through the staff for whom English is her native language.

We are very proud of the fact that our Early Learning Centers are the first fully accredited Early Learning Centers in the Middle East. All our teachers are qualified and trained to ensure that your child will learn in an environment that is safe and respectful and full of wonder, joy and success. The curriculum is based on research and best practice and the qualified staff is dedicated to nurturing creative, joyful and compassionate inquirers. The belief that children are courageous and innovative in their thinking, and that through play they can help build a harmonious and sustainable world, drives the teaching and learning in the center.

We know that learning is at times difficult and challenging, especially social interactions. We respect that children are discovering and learning about the world around them through these interactions. We will work closely with parents, as you are our partners in your child’s learning.
You will see me in the corridors and classrooms; I have an open-door policy where you are most welcome to meet with me at any time.

Kind regards

Jo Ellis
